Myofascial Cupping Therapy
What to expect
I initially warm up the muscles using massage techniques to identify areas of tension, trigger points and restrictive movement (Painful fascia adhesions are commonly formed by repetitive movements often originating in the workplace or from sports.)
I apply the cups creating a negative pressure inside the cup to gently lift the thickened fascia, I then slowly glide the cups over the affected areas to break up the adhesions painlessly without the discomfort of force. Once released normal muscle movement is restored and the pain spasm cycle is disrupted.
How does it work?
Painful fascia adhesions are commonly formed by repetitive movements often originating in the workplace or from sports.
Myofascial cupping technique lifts and separates soft tissue helping to eliminate restrictive trigger points and sometimes painful adhesions. Previously where muscles were tight and constricted, cupping increases hydration bringing increased blood flow to the muscles to help detox and nourish the muscles.
A modified version of the traditional Chinese cupping style targeting the musculoskeletal system.
Myofascial is comprised of the word “myo” referring to muscle and “fascia” referring to the collagenous web that surrounds, supports and connects all of our muscles, rather like “bubble wrap”.
An incredibly effective treatment that works exceptionally well in remedial and detox therapies.
Myofascial cupping therapy can be used as a standalone treatment-for example for treating conditions such as “Tennis Elbow” or “Plantar Fasciitis, or incorporated into a remedial or detox treatment.
